Film Acting

About the Class:

Students will explore to develop, enhance or discover screen acting techniques for film and television production through Acting Performing Studio & tailored courses. We cater for beginners starting out in set life, to those changing from stage to screen, as well as those wanting to advance their skills in film and television.

Acting Performance Studio is a screen acting technique-based studio, exploring a variety of approaches to the craft of acting. This term class will explore:

• Will explore and gain a variety of skills and screen techniques for auditions and screen tests
• Participate in regular improvisation exercises to promote spontaneity and encourage imagination.
• Will learn script analysis techniques and scene studies to help you break down and understand the text you are working with.
• Will do regular recorded scene work, rehearsing with scene partners to explore a range of ways to approach scenes.
• Will focus on vocal technique and physicality to develop characters.
• Will have the unique opportunity to review and analyse your scene work in class with our playback monitors.
• Will work with our highly experienced tutors; professional working actors, directors and filmmakers.
• Be supported in your training with expert advice and tips, be encouraged to find your personal approach to the craft.
• Will participate in a variety of drama games, working in partners and teams to help build your confidence, focus and reactivity.
• Will work in a nurturing class environment, supporting you to grow into the best performer you can be.
• Will have all your recorded scene work made available to you at the end of each term to take home.

Musical Theatre

About the Class:

Collaborate with professional theatre tutors in a tailor-made Musical Theatre course, with training in singing, dancing and acting. Throughout this course, we offer a number of opportunities to improve your skills by working with our highly experienced tutors; who are all professional working actors and theatre practitioners.

Our courses work towards regular theatre productions & showcases, while working on solo and ensemble pieces for both class and outside performances. You will explore a variety of vocal, dance, storytelling and character development techniques and participate in regular improvisation exercises to promote spontaneity and encourage imagination.

Throughout classes you will participate in regular vocal and physical warm-ups and be a part of a fun and energetic atmosphere – learn new songs, develop choreography and devise performances. Classes also involve a variety of fun and educating drama games, working in partners and teams to help build your confidence, focus and reactivity.
